it's not goodbye..

" YOU have brought out the best in us"...

Now, I fully understand the words of Ms. Eduarte during our first meeting. "Class, I'm sure you will enjoy this course", she said. And here we are, we can proudly say that we had a great time with Philippine Literature.

I want to share the messages sent to me by Sariwa't Mabango Group last Saturday night after the presentation....

"Sulit" ---(Vic)

"ui.hahanku.slmt seniung lhat sa msyang arw.hahA.mula p khp0n ansya.haha.slmt2.ingat un mga d p nkkauwi.haha.cnu kya un?prng aq n ung huli eh.haha=P slmt2 let.grupm8s.haha.glng ntn.haha." ---(Darwin)

"..nkkpgd n araw 2!pero ang saya! super enjoy!tnx s inung lhat!muah2!gud nyt 2 ol!.." ---(Kim)

"slmat nga pla, xana s u2litin uli.:-)gudnyt.:-)" ---(Eugene)

"slmt sa pghatidngnjoy ako.tnku2." --(Bella)

We never imagined that we will experience this kind of happiness from this course. There might be lots of requirements to fulfill but admittedly, these things brought us to the kind of joy we try to find to the other courses we have.

It's hard to think that the term will end, this is a signal of another chapter of our lives. But the bonding we have shared with each other will continue to grow as long as we keep it. I pray that what we build will not end when the term started to reach its final day.

Ma'am, thank you for opening the door. The way to Literature. We finally appreciate its value in our programs and most importantly, in our lives. The lessons we have learned from the great authors and poets will continue to flow in our hearts. We have a very great time sharing our ideas and talents with you. You nurtured the talents we have, we can write from nothing pala. We built confidence in ourselves that we can also create our own masterpiece and we can be proud of it.

Groupmates, my experience with you is something I will treasure. I admit, it's quite hard to handle a group. Syempre, medyo nakakailang. Nakakailang magsaway, nakakailang magtawag ng practice, nakakailang kasi di pa tayo close. Pero at least, I finally learned that it's not hard to be with you pala, masaya kayong kasama. Na pwede tayong magtulungan. I discovered things during my moments with each of you. Salamat sa ating lahat, we may not be the best presentors but I can say that we are the best group. Ang astig kasi ng relationship na meron tayo with one another. We are all best. We did our best. Ajah!

Classmates, we work as a team although kulang tayo ng isang group. Kaya naman we are both happy to the product of our practices.

Jho, sorry kung feeling mo eh we made fun of you.. Anyways, salamat sa friendship mo.
Nakakatuwa kasi naging close tayo.

Lloyd, Arvin, Vic, Nino, Runo thank you sa inyo. How I pray na magkaron pa ako ng time to fully know you.

Bela and Kim ... TY! I enjoy your company.. Ang saya-saya nyong kasama. Di ko inexpect na makakakwentuhan ko kayo.. Salamat sa big help.

Phia, Khon Sham,, salamat. muahxx

Darwin, Eugene, Jethro.. Thank you sa inyo. I never thought na super friendly nyo pala. Akala ko dati, super seryoso nyo,, nakakatakot iapproach. But I was wrong pala.. Ang kukulit nyo,, hahah.. Salamat sa pag-remind,, haha..

Sean, syempre. The best ka talaga. Salamat! Ang sarap-sarap ng food.. Haaahahah,, sana maulit muli..

This is not goodbye, this is just a start of a new friendship..
I believe.

Salamat sa inyong lahat.....

sampaguita song

By Marjorie Evasco
Written and directed by: Ruby Rose D. Sarmiento

Mga Tauhan: Tindera Misyonero
Sampaguita Girl Estudyante 1 at 2
Mga Tsuper (2-4) Businessman
Doktor Pastor

Pulubi: ( Nanlilimos. )
Estudyante: ( Palakad lakad, nagkukwentuhan. )
Misyonero: ( Sasayaw-sayaw kasama ng Pastor)

Estudyante 1: Pare, may yosi ka ba dyan?
Estudyante 2: Wala pare eh.

Businessman: ( Palingalinga at tila nagmamadali. Tinitingnan ang relo habang tumatawid. ) late na ako. ( Bulong nito sa sarili. )
Sampaguita Girl: (Dali-daling hinabol ang businessman.) Sir, sir, Sampaguita po. Murang-mura at sariwa pa. Bili na naman po kayo. Sige na po. ( Nagmamaka-awang sambit.)

Pastor: Ineng, ika’y tumabi riyan.

Being seated at the back gives me the priviledge to witness everything that happens inside the class, aside from having a stolen chit-chat with my seatmates.

Pagpasok sa room, wooh ang lamig. When we can't resist the atmosphere lingering around the air, we'll ask someone to have switch-off the aircon. As we wait for the arrival of Ms. Eduarte, everyone inside the class will find place to talk about the gigantic problem solving what we encountered during the day, the worms in integral and the problems in calculus. Admittedly, Phil. Lit. is one of our theraphy before the day ends. Then "Urno", is coming up.

Someone will be assigned to lead the prayer.
Yes, this is it! Eksena na ni "Urno".

R1. Aba, seryoso. They participated the discussion. Pero ng umarangkada na si "Urno", taraaan. They almost fell on the floor laughing. Everyone understands, we knew it.
R2. Without doubt, the students here are full of energy rin. Di pinalalampas ang kamandag ni "Urno". May sarili silang kwentuhan, may sariling discussion. But still, we are all listening attentively.
R3. Ayan na, dito belong ang bida. Seryoso, nag-aabang sa susunod na atake. Si "Urno" sobrang active sa pagvolunteer. At don sya hinahangaan, laging ready. He still have the spirit of being a boy scout.
R4. Here I am. Constantly viewing the business of everyone. Ang lahat nag-eenjoy sa discussion. Pero ang pinaka the best is, I am so free to stare at someone that attracts me.. Yun yon eh,, hahaha.. Syempre, si "Urno" pa rin yon, wooh.
If you want to know him to experience the same thing we are enjoying in class, then feel free to visit us at R208 every MWF, 2:30-4:00. See you.

my tanaga....

Through our lips, rainbow arch flow;

Above the cheeks, two pearls glow

Like shooting stars tommorow

Radiating from your shadow.

laughter :-)

LAUGHTER
by: Maningning Miclat

He left me
when he could
no longer stand the laughter

that I gave him
while he begged me not
to keep memories

alive in poems
to hurt myself
and make those
who read

sad. I laughed
when he shared
his life with me
while holding him

to make it easier
and maybe
less painful
to live on.

Laugh! I told
him, but
could not get
his attention.

Laugh! I asked
him, but
he left in
anger.

And left
before he understood
the courage
that held my laughter.

This poem is some what ironic. By merely looking at the title itself, I can say that the poem is all about a laughter. But if I'm going to take time reading this, I can say that it has another meaning. The speaker is within the poem, she's the one talking. The laughter here can mean pain base from the tone of the voice of the speaker, the tone is not happy, it is not laughing. A guy, left her (if the speaker is a girl). The setting is all about breaking up her heart. The girl always write poems to record their memories but the guy avoided her. Because he doesn't want her to be hurt more by what she is doing. When he was breaking up with her, she tried to hide her feelings through her laughter. But the guy didn't understand the meaning of her laughter, that she is just pretending because she cannot stand the pain. That is why the guy left her laughing without knowing the real feelings inside her. Until he understand her courage to laugh, he understand the reason of her laughter.

The story, "The Servant Girl", is about an ordinary girl, a servant girl, whose only wish is to have a different life because she was being abused by her mistress.

I was really touched by this story. It shows the usual treatment of the master to their servants. This poor little girl creates an imaginary world that might save her. She envisions and dreamed for a hero, a knight that will take her away and bring her to a place she dreamed for a long time. Fo she believed that with him, she will experience happiness and start to fulfill her dream.

That is why I want to sympathize to this poor girl whose only hope is to escape from the world she used to live in, to have a full retirement on her unjustice life. What she wanted is a real world that will introduce her the the true happiness she didn't experience.

Expecting for someone and something good to come are not bad. I can't blame her. She was a helpless girl who longed for many things she didn't possess, specially for a love that will embrace her being, an inspiration that will cheer her up. And that was Angel who was the fulfillment of her long-waiting. She assumed that this Angel is the angel that will offer her a path leading to the wold she dreamed off. But unfortunately, Angel was also made by her wide imaginations. That is why in the end, this Angel (Pedro) is the one who will bring her back pala to the world she tried to escape in.

http://www.yahoo.images.com/

The created mind of Nick Joaquin came up to the issue between to sexes. Considering the first few paragraphs of the story, Dona Lupeng is a very submissive wife while Don Paeng is dominant.

But when Guido was introduced in the story, it seemed that Dona Lupeng change her mood. Her husband also observed that sudden change. Guido is a male character that acknowledges the purpose of a women, how they must be treated, that women is capable of dominating men. According to Guido, women are meant not only to be cared, respected and loved, bust most importantly, they must be ADORED. From this, Dona Lupeng was beginning to transform her aura when she argued with her husband. She resisted to sit down when she was instructed to. She was able to deny her husband's decision of not going to the Tadtarin. This argument shows that feminity is as powerful as masulinity.

Because of the spirit of the Tadtarin that captured Dona Lupeng's being, she joined dancing with the crowd . Don Paeng tried to stop her but he can't do anything because his wife is determined to joined them.

In the end, Don Paeng surrenderd himself to his wife.
His pride was nothing when he crawl like a lizard to kiss Dona Lupeng's feet.
WOMEN IS SUPERIOR!

But honestly, I don't encourage that kind of attitude. Adoration is meant only for God. As a woman, I'm conted being loved, cared, and respected by my future partner. As long as he is loyal to me, resposible and God-fearing, it is more than enough.

I'm so sorry for Don Paeng, he became the victim of the cult. And even his wife was totally captured by the evil spirit.
